ABOUT ME
If it sounds as if I know what it’s like to get buried under all the hats you wear and lose touch with your true self, that’s because I do!
I spent 15 years in graphic design and marketing. I was making a good living, but for years I felt like something huge was missing.
I wanted work that had a deeper purpose but I was terrified of starting over! I doubted my abilities and questioned my motives.
Finally, after much soul-searching, I took a huge risk: As a single mom at age 40, I left my job, went back to school, and became an art therapist and counselor.
Crazy, right? My friends and family thought so! The naysayers in my life, combined with my own insecurities, made the process rocky.
When I look back now, though? I’m so grateful I made a choice that didn’t seem to make sense.
My mission as a coach is to help other women take their own courageous leaps. I teach them the tools that I wish I’d had and provide the rock-solid encouragement we all need to create meaningful, sustainable change.
My coaching style is welcoming, energetic, and playful. I use therapeutic art techniques and cognitive psychology to help women overcome entrenched ideas about what’s acceptable to want and possible to achieve.
If you feel a deep desire to do something new with your life, if you fear it makes no sense, if your brain keeps screaming “it’s too late! stick with what you know!” then I want to work with you!
MY COACHING METHOD
Art
I guide my clients through creative exercises designed to encourage self-discovery and self-compassion. When we know and accept ourselves fully, a world of possibility opens up to us. Through a regular art making practice, clients will practice emotional skills necessary to achieve “impossible” goals.
Psychology
Based in cognitive behavioral theory, my S.T.E.A.L. (situation, thoughts, emotions, actions, life) coaching model helps clients observe and adjust the invisible influences that make or break the visible goals we want to achieve.
Many people think that their daily experience is a simple reaction to the circumstances they find themselves in. When we make that assumption, we’re missing the TEA – thoughts, emotions & actions – that transform our situation (S) into a life (L) we want to live.
I help clients become aware of thought patterns and emotional sticking points that keep them in a loop of ineffectiveness or inaction. Because we often can’t or don’t want to change our situation, we have to change ourselves in order to live a remarkable life.
Partnership
What takes coaching from a simple information exchange to a dynamic change catalyst is the relationship between coach and client. I am committed to building a partnership with you to create a life that resonates deeply with your values and desires.
I believe that your monetary investment in any coaching program should be matched and exceeded by the coach’s investment of expertise and desire to see you succeed.
